Before joining the firm, Cornelia Summ was practising as a senior associate in the banking department of the Frankfurt office of Allen & Overy LLP (2001-2006), as an inhouse lawyer in the central legal department of Dresdner Bank AG in Frankfurt (1991-2001) and as a scientific assistant at the Center of International Credit Law at the University of Mainz (1989-1991).
Cornelia Summ benefits from longstanding experience and has proven expertise in all areas of banking and finance law. Over the last years she focused in particular on advice in the area of financing (syndicated and bilateral lending; i.a. acquisition finance, export and trade finance, project finance and property finance). Her clients include renowned German and foreign credit institutions, but also large and medium-sized enterprises as borrowers. She further regularly advises in connection with the restructuring of lending transactions and with all other insolvency law related questions arising in an economic crisis or an insolvency situation. Her practice also includes banking supervisory law, where she particularly works for foreign or new market participants.
Cornelia Summ is inter alia a member of the Bankrechtliche Vereinigung - Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Bankrecht e.V., of the German-French Lawyers' Association and of the International Bar Association (Financial Services Section - Insolvency, Restructuring and Creditors Rights Section).
