Matthias Bergt began his career with academic work at the Institute for Information and Communication Technology Law of the Humboldt University Berlin, during the years 2002 through 2006, performing functions at the interface of law and technology. In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, he also managed the security of the law faculty's computer network. From 2009 to 2010, he served as a judge at the District Court of Hamburg and then joined v. Boetticher Hasse Lohmann, Berlin. Matthias Bergt focuses on intellectual property, competition law and IT law, especially issues of e-commerce and data protection.
Matthias Bergt is a member inter alia of the German Association of Law and Computer Science (DGRI) .
