Expertise

The core of Matthias Bergt’s expertise comprises intellectual property rights, competition law and IT law, specifically the legal aspects surrounding software projects, data protection and technology. Matthias Bergt combines law expertise with extensive IT knowledge he acquired, among others, in his four years as a research assistant at the Humboldt University Department of Information and Communication Technology Law in Berlin, where, in addition to his teaching and research duties, he was also in charge of computer network security at the University’s Faculty of Law. Matthias Bergt was a judge at Hamburg District Court, where he gained vital practical experience in procedural law before making his career move to von BOETTICHER in 2010. In his legal work, Matthias Bergt focuses on consulting for IT service providers, hard- and software producers. For other industries, he primarily advises on legal matters pertaining to data protection, IT, IP and research.
